Ninebot Max G3 Pro and ZT3 Max: what changes compared with the Max G3 and ZT3 Pro

by Street Ride

Ninebot Max G3, the base of the new Max G3 Pro

The current Max G3. The Max G3 Pro builds on it, with a bigger battery, a 12-inch front wheel and 140 mm brake discs.

On 7 October 2026, Segway unveiled two new e-scooters: the Ninebot Max G3 Pro and the ZT3 Max. They're not all-new models, but beefed-up versions of the Max G3 and the ZT3 Pro, which we sell and repair every day in our workshop. Here's what really changes, with the numbers.

  • Max G3 Pro: 50% bigger battery (899 Wh vs 597 Wh), 12-inch front wheel, 140 mm brake discs. Announced at €1,099 in France.
  • ZT3 Max: more powerful motor (2,200 W peak vs 1,600 W), 717 Wh battery, combined braking, hydraulic suspension and a 12-inch front wheel. Announced at €999 in France.
  • Availability: November 2026 in France and Germany, then other European countries. For Belgium, neither the date nor the price has been announced yet.
  • Speed: no change, 25 km/h on public roads in Belgium, just like the current models.

Before comparing: Segway now measures range differently

For these two models, Segway quotes a range measured at top speed, no longer in eco mode at low speed. Under this method, certified by TÜV Rheinland, the scooter is ridden flat out until it can no longer hold 60% of its top speed. The figures are therefore closer to real life, but they cannot be compared directly with the "up to 80 km" on older spec sheets.

To compare range between the old and new models, battery capacity in watt-hours (Wh) remains the most reliable measure.

The battery is the real change

With 899 Wh instead of 597 Wh, the Max G3 Pro carries half as much energy again. In practice, someone who charges their Max G3 every two days today will last three days on the Pro for the same commute. Segway also plans an optional 468 Wh external battery to go even further.

A bit more power

The motor goes from 700 to 850 W rated and from 2,000 to 2,300 W peak. Speed stays limited to 25 km/h: you'll mostly feel the gain on hills and when pulling away, with a heavier rider or a load.

12-inch front wheel and 140 mm discs

The 12-inch front wheel rolls more easily over cobblestones, kerbs and potholes, which matters in Brussels. The brake discs grow from 120 to 140 mm: more surface means more stopping power and better heat resistance on descents. It's exactly the diameter we fit on the Max G3 in our hydraulic brake conversions.

What stays the same

Weight is almost unchanged (24.9 kg), as are the 130 kg max load, the colour display, the self-sealing tyres and the option of charging with two chargers at once. Segway adds tracking through Google Find Hub on top of Apple Find My.

More power for hills and trails

The ZT3 Max gains 38% more peak power and climbs gradients up to 30%, compared with 25% for the ZT3 Pro. It's the one to watch if you live in a hilly area or regularly leave the tarmac.

Brakes and suspension: the biggest step forward

This is where the ZT3 Max changes most. It gets 140 mm discs and ICBS combined braking, which automatically splits braking force between front and rear, plus electronic ABS. The suspension becomes two-stage hydraulic front and rear, with a stiffer double-crown fork. On trails and cobblestones, the scooter should feel noticeably more stable.

A slightly bigger battery

The battery grows from 597 to 717 Wh, or 20% more. Part of that gain will go to the more powerful motor: expect slightly better range, not a revolution.

Buy now or wait?

Keep in mind that the first units will only reach France and Germany in November, and that the Belgian date is not known yet. We'll update this article as soon as Segway announces pricing and availability in Belgium.

What about our hydraulic brake kits?

Our brake adapters and our Hall sensor are designed for the Max G3 and the ZT3 Pro. The Max G3 Pro and the ZT3 Max already come with 140 mm discs, but their 12-inch front wheel may change the calliper position. We'll check compatibility as soon as we get our hands on one and post the result here. Until then, please don't order our brake adapters for these two new models.
